ST. CROIX, Virgin Islands – President Joe Biden is heading to the Virgin Islands with First Lady Jill Biden to celebrate the new year.
According to FOX News, the Bidens will spend New Years there, before coming back to what is described as a busy and polarized Washington, D.C.
When the president returns, FOX says, it will officially be 2024 – the year he runs for reelection, the year Republicans want to go full out on impeachment, and the year his son Hunter is expected to see two trials relating to several federal charges.
The president is also dealing with more than 730,000 migrant encounters at the southern border since October 1, according to FOX News. That’s in addition to 103 attacks on U.S. forces since October 17.
The president rang in 2023 from St. Croix last year – and FOX says the Bidens are frequent visitors to that area. Members of the Biden family are also expected to join the vacation.
The Virgin Islands are a U.S. territory.
