PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria’s Snowfighters are working to clear the streets as another winter storm rolls through central Illinois.
Public Works Deputy Director Sie Maroon says crews will continue around-the-clock operations as a couple inches of snow fell overnight, with more snow and rain in the forecast on Friday.
The city’s main, arterial streets are snow-covered. Roads are slick, but passable. Drive with an overabundance of caution, especially when braking or approaching intersections.
As far as plowing, Maroon says the main roads will be plowed first , and residential streets after the snow stops falling. Road conditions should improve before Friday’s morning’s rush hour.
Friday’s weather still looks like a mixed bag. Snow is expected to transition back to rain later Friday morning, then back to a wintry mix and snow this afternoon and evening
