PEORIA, Ill. – Illinois State Police say two crashes occurred around the same time on Interstate 74 near downtown Peoria – one of which involved a Peoria Police squad car.
Troopers say the crashes were reported around 8:00 a.m. Friday
In the one involving the squad car, troopers say it was on the right shoulder, lights flashing, and was assisting the first vehicle that had crashed into a guardrail, when a Hyundai changing lanes lost control and struck the rear of the squad car.
That driver, who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, also received a citation for the crash.
No one was hurt.

Not many details have been released, except that one crash involved a passenger vehicle and the squad car, and the second involved a vehicle that struck a guard rail.
One person was taken to the hospital with injuries.
Troopers say they’re still investigating.
