UPDATED 3:55 P.M.
PEORIA, Ill. – A fire in Peoria’s East Bluff area is believed to have done some damage, but not caused any serious injuries.
Fire officials say there was some heavy smoke when they first arrived at the one and a half story home near McClure and Atlantic around 12:15 p.m.
One person was trapped on the second floor but firefighters were able to get that person out and start treatment before being sent to the hospital.
The home sustained what was described as major damage estimated at $50,000.
The fire was an accident due to cooking, and two people are displaced.

Crews were called around 12:15 p.m. Friday to a home near McClure and Atlantic, not far from Peoria Zoo.
Fire Chief Shawn Sollberger tells 25 News no one was hurt, but a cause is still being investigated.
Damage estimates are not yet available.
