PEORIA, Ill. – Gas prices in Peoria have gone up six cents a gallon in the past week, averaging $3.07 on Monday, according to GasBuddy’s survey of local stations.
Prices in Peoria are just over three cents a gallon lower than a month ago and just over 53 cents lower than this time last year.
GasBuddy says the cheapest gas in Peoria was $2.94 a gallon on Sunday, while the most expensive gas was $3.29. The lowest gas price in Illinois on Sunday was $2.64 a gallon, while the highest price was $4.59.
GasBuddy’s national average price of gas has dropped eight cents a gallon in the last week, averaging $3.03 on Monday. The national average is down 7.8 cents from a month ago and 36 cents less than a year ago.
Meanwhile, AAA says the Peoria-Pekin metro area’s average price on Monday was $3.09 a gallon, Illinois’ average price was $3.22, and the national average gas price was $3.07.
