PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria man charged with the city’s first homicide of the year has been indicted by a grand jury.
Peoria County Court records indicate David Stone, 39, was formally charged Tuesday with First Degree Murder.
He was arrested in South Peoria hours after the January 4 shooting which occurred in the Center Bluff near Knoxville and Thrush, and claimed the life of Arlin Bermudez, 34.
A host of other charges Stone was arrested on were not filed by the Peoria County State’s Attorney.
Stone remains jailed, and will be arraigned Thursday afternoon.
