PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria County grand jury has indicted a man accused of causing a shooting that also involved a man dying after accidentally being run over by a car.
Court records indicate Demetrius Drummond, 35, was charged this week with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
Drummond was arrested in late-December, accused of opening fire last October near Knoxville and Thrush.
Kobe Johnson, 24, police claimed, was inadvertently run over by a vehicle after the shots were fired, and later died.
Several other weapons and domestic battery charges Drummond was arrested on were never filed.
Drummond was to be arraigned Wednesday, but that’s been delayed until February 28th for a new attorney to make an appearance.
