WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republicans in the U.S. House Sunday morning have released two articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
FOX News reports Mayorkas is being charged with refusing to comply with immigration laws, releasing migrants and asylum-seekers into the United States rather than detaining them.
He is also charged with breaching the public trust by lying to Congress when he has testified about the southern border situation that some have described as a “crisis.”
House speaker Mike Johnson has said he wants his chamber to vote on impeachment articles “as soon as possible.”
