ROME, Ill. – One person was taken to a hospital after the car they were driving crashed into a Peoria County home.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says it happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday on Knox Street, near the Shell gas station, in Rome.
Watkins says the driver was south on Route 29, when they lost control of the vehicle because they were choking. They then lost consciousness and ran into the home.
The driver had only minor injuries. The homeowner, who was inside the house at the time of the crash, was not hurt.
