PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police have arrested a man for an incident on the Gale Street overpass, off I-74, almost two weeks ago.
While responding to an unrelated accident there, officers say they heard shots nearby. One of them struck a police vehicle.
Police on Tuesday found 25-year-old suspect Donte Wright, thanks in part to a license plate reader. A handgun was allegedly seized in a search of his vehicle.
Wright remains jailed on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
