PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria emergency crews responded to a residential fire in the area of W. Krause Avenue and W. Seibold Street early Thursday morning.
Firefighters found heavy smoke and fire on the upper level of the one
and a half story house around 6:30 a.m.
Neighbors told crews that someone may have been in the house, but a search found no one inside.
After fighting the fire from the interior for about 15 minutes, firefighters had to evacuate the home due to heavy fire conditions not improving. Once the fire was under control, crews were able to go back in and put the fire out.
A fire investigator was called to the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
Crews were on the scene for about two hours.
