PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man received a prison sentence after taking a plea deal in relation to a car theft incident from last year.
Sentaries Farmer, 19, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle, while charges of vehicular hijacking were dropped.
Farmer was sentenced to seven years in prison, but has received credit for nearly a year served.
The incident occurred in the area of North Ellis last March, where a man told police that two men, one armed with a gun, approached him and took his car.
The car was spotted by officers, and a chase ensued, ending at Main and University after the car was involved in a crash. Farmer and three juveniles were arrested.
