EUREKA, Ill. – A man not yet officially facing charges in Peoria County for alleged home repair fraud, has pleaded not guilty to similar charges in Woodford County.
Court records indicate Nicholas Hamby, 37, pleaded not guilty in Woodford County to a felony charge of Home Repair Fraud there.
Hamby was arrested earlier this month in Peoria on multiple counts of Theft, Home Repair Fraud, Aggravated Home Repair Fraud, and Deceptive Practices.
In Woodford County, Hamby is scheduled for another hearing March 8th, according to 25 News.
Hamby allegedly defrauded at least eight customers of more than $30,000 worth of work in the Peoria area, by taking money and then not completing the jobs, according to Peoria Police.
Despite the Peoria arrest, Peoria County court records do not list formal charges for him. At the time of his arrest, he was given Notices to Appear in Court after being booked into the Peoria County Jail.
