PEORIA, Ill. – The annual Peoria Spring Home Show is underway at the Civic Center.
The three-day event runs through Sunday afternoon in the Exhibit Halls, featuring more than 150 exhibitors with products ranging from roofing, baths, flooring, and log cabins.
The show is run by the Home Builders Association of Greater Peoria, and Executive Director Lisa Scott says she’s ready for everyone to put their best foot forward.
“My job has been setting this show up for the last 12 months. Now that the doors are open, I want to watch the exhibitors be successful,” Scott said. “They’re all local, small companies who need the support of local consumers. So that’s what this show is all about.”
Scott says she expects around 10,000 people to attend the home show this year.
In addition to the home improvement exhibitors, attendees can find booths for home furnishings, such as blankets and pillows, and booths with food and drink samples.
The show is more than just projects for your home. There are entertainment options throughout the weekend, including meet-and-greet opportunities with Butch Patrick, who played Eddie Munster on “The Munsters.”
Patrick says he’s familiar with the area.
“I lived in Geneseo as a kid before I did “The Munsters,” and I have a cousin that lives in Springfield, and then I also have friends in Chicago. So I’m familiar with the state,” Patrick said.
Three stage shows will be running throughout the weekend. Storm chaser Nick Bartholomew will give presentations on severe weather safety and storm chasing. Midwest Garden Gal Lisa Hinzman will talk about tips on gardening. And Nature Nick’s Animal Adventures Stage will feature exotic animals.
Tickets are $7 for adults, $3 for seniors, and free for children.
