EAST PEORIA, Ill. – It might almost feel like all four seasons of weather Tuesday and into the overnight hours in the Peoria area.
25 News First Alert Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins says your area may or may not see severe weather as a part of it..
“This won’t be a widespread severe weather event, but we’ll see scattered severe weather including the possibility of an isolated tornado, damaging winds, and large hail,” said Collins. “The storms will move through after 4:00 Tuesday afternoon, and quickly exit the region.”
Then, Collins says, this warm spell we’ve been experiencing comes to a crashing end.
“Once the severe weather passes, temperatures will fall 50 degrees – from highs in the mid 70’s Tuesday afternoon, to the mid 20’s in the morning with snow showers,” said Collins. “Highs Wednesday will be in the 30’s, with wind chills in the teens.”
Snow accumulation, Collins and the National Weather Service both say, will be light, and less than a half inch.
The cold weather is expected to last a couple days, but highs by Saturday could be back into the 60’s.
