Peoria man facing new federal drug, weapons charges

PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man arrested last month after a search warrant was conducted on an East Bluff home faces new federal charges in the case.

A federal grand jury filed charges Tuesday accusing Raphael Thompson, 34, of Possession of Methamphetamine and Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm with Drug Trafficking, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

A search of a home February 8th near Arcadia and Central allegedly turned up meth in two forms, along with cocaine.

The indictment superceded one previously filed in the case.

Thompson is due in federal court April seventh. He could go to trial in the case as soon as May 9th.
