PEORIA, Ill. – An arrest has been made in connection to a shooting last month in South Peoria that injured a teenage boy.
Peoria Police say Nehemiah Garner, 19, was arrested on Friday in the area of W. Marquette and Idaho Streets, after officers were responding to a separate incident of trouble between two females.
The shooting occurred a block north in the area of Antoinette and Idaho Streets the evening of February 15th. Police say officers were responding to a ShotSpotter alert of 10 rounds fired. Minutes later, officers went to W. Millman on reports of someone shot, with a 17-year-old boy telling police he was shot by an unknown male.
The 17-year-old suffered serious injuries.
Garner was arrested for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
