No one was found inside a East Bluff home surrounded by Peoria Police Thursday morning.
According to public information officer Amy Dotson, the first call came in at 7:54 a.m. saying a witness saw a male possibly with a gun enter a residence in the 100 block of E. Illinois Ave. The caller hung up on dispatch.
“Officers arrived and could not contact or locate any witnesses,” Dotson said. “They could not make contact with the caller who placed the 911 call”.
At 9:07 a.m. an additional call was received of two shots fired, allegedly, inside of the residence. The call was made from the same phone number that placed the first call.
“Due to the type of phone that was used, it could not be called back,” Dotson said.
Additional officers arrived on scene after the second call was received. Police set up a perimeter for the area. As well as detectives, members of the SRT unit and Target Offenders unit arrived on scene.
Police conducted a sweep to see if there was anyone hurt inside due to the nature of the call, according to Dotson.
After three hours, police did enter the residence.
“No one was located inside of the home,” Dotson said. “There was possible evidence located”.
The incident remains under investigation.
