NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Missouri college student Riley Strain has been found dead following a two week search, after the 22-year-old went missing in Nashville.
Nashville Police say Strain was found in the Cumberland River, about eight miles from downtown Nashville.
According to FOX News, Nashville Police Chief John Drake said a worker called the police to report the body Friday morning.
“As they were removing an object from the river, they noticed what appeared to be Riley Strain pop up,” said John Drake, Nashville Police Chief, at a news conference. “The Fire Department was called in, and retrieved the body from the river.”
Drake says there was no immediate evidence of foul play, but an autopsy will be conducted.
FOX reports Drake, who disappeared March 8, was a college student at the University of Missouri, and was in Nashville on a fraternity trip. He reportedly had been kicked out of a bar two weeks ago for being intoxicated, telling friends he was going to return to a hotel.
BREAKING: The body of Riley Strain was recovered from the Cumberland River in West Nashville this morning, approximately 8 miles from downtown. No foul play-related trauma was observed. An autopsy is pending.
