Update: Marks’ hearing in juvenile date has been set for Friday Sept. 13.
Charges against a 14-year-old murder suspect from Peoria were dropped in court Friday.
Prosecutors against the suspect, Zaveon Marks, requested the case be refereed in juvenile court for clarification on a transfer hearing regarding sentencing .
Marks faced two counts of first degree murder and also one count of unlawful possession of a firearm after the fatal shooting on June 12 of 16-year-old Zarious Fair.
Marks could be transferred back to felony court.
The defense previously requested a re-arraignment due to wrong penalties being read in Marks’ charges, but it was denied.
