PEORIA, Ill. — One of the bumpier, cracked roadways in Peoria — among others — is now set for some much needed repair as a result of action at Tuesday night’s Peoria City Council meeting.
Council members voted to allocated roughly $6.6M dollars to a new series of street improvement projects over the next two years.
One of those projects will be improvements to a section of North Allen Road near War Memorial Drive and Northmoore Road.
City crews hope to add at least five years to the roadway’s life cycle.
It’s considered a short term fix for the area.
According to 25 News, Peoria’s Public Works Department still plans on a more expansive rebuild of Allen Road in the future.
