PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters responded to a two-vehicle accident on N. Knoxville Avenue Sunday night with entrapment.
Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Calhoun says around 9:10 p.m., they found one vehicle on its side, near Advance Auto Parts, with the driver trapped.
Crews began medical treatment as the car was stabilized. Fire Rescue 1 used tools to remove the roof and windshield of the vehicle to get to the driver. It took multiple firefighters to get them out.
The patient was taken to a hospital by AMT.
No firefighter injuries were reported.
