PEORIA, Ill. – A man was arrested in Peoria on Friday after allegedly being in possession of a ghost gun.
Peoria Police say a traffic stop was conducted at Monroe and Hancock just before 8:30 P.M. and saw two adult subjects inside.
Officers observed the driver not wearing a seat belt and were questioning them about it when the passenger, 34-year-old Aurice Leflore, reportedly attempted to exit the vehicle.
He then reportedly resisted arrest and fled from officers on foot.
A loaded Polymer 80 ghost gun reportedly fell from Leflore’s waistband onto the ground before he fled.
Leflore was taken into custody just before 9:45 P.M. in the area of Greenleaf and Wayne.
He was arrested on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card, Obstructing Justice, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Police, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm with Defaced Identification, and two Active Warrants.
Leflore was arrested and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
