WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House Oversight Committee has voted on a resolution to hold U-S Attorney General Merrick Garland in Contempt of Congress for not providing audio recordings to them of President Biden’s interview with former Special Counsel Robert Hur.
The recordings were part of an investigation into the president over retaining classified documents, which Hur opted not to pursue charges.
The House committee voted 24-20 in favor of the resolution, according to FOX News.
The White House says President Biden exercised executive privilege over any audio and video recordings of him with Hur, pointing out the transcript of the five-hour interview was already made public.
There’s no word on when the full House might vote on the resolution.
