PEORIA, Ill. – The man alleged to have shot and killed an 18-year-old from Peoria who was home from junior college in Kansas has been indicted.
20-year-old Messiah Carpenter was indicted on one count of First Degree Murder by a Peoria County grand jury Tuesday in the death of MikeQuese Taylor.
Carpenter is scheduled back in court on Thursday for an arraignment hearing.
Carpenter is accused of being one of two males who approached Taylor the evening of April 30th at Knoxville and Forrest Hill and shooting Taylor.
Prosecutors say surveillance video, along with cell phone records, identified Carpenter as a suspect in the shooting.
