PEORIA, Ill. – A teenager was arrested on gun charges on Tuesday night in Peoria.
Police Spokesperson Semone Roth says officers tried to stop a vehicle near Sheridan Road and Bartlett Court around 9:15 p.m. It finally stopped near Brons and Bourland Avenues, where two people jumped out the passenger side and the driver sped off.
A 17-year-old male was taken into custody after a brief chase with police. The other person who ran from the vehicle and the driver were not found.
The teen was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, no FOID card, unlawful possession of a handgun under 21 and resisting police.
The teen was taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
