UPDATE: PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – Authorities have identified the body found Friday in the Illinois River in Peoria County.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says the body was identified as Seiarra (Waddell) DeLasso, 37, of Peoria. The Coroner’s office and the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office had put out a public plea for help in making the identification.
“We appreciate the public’s help and the tips that aided in the positive identification,” Harwood said in a news release.
An autopsy has been scheduled.

UPDTATE – PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – The investigation continues into the discovery a woman’s body in the Illinois River and authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify the victim.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says an employee of Mosiac Fertilizer off Cargill Road found the body around 1:45 p.m. Friday floating about 20 feet from shore in the barge loading area. It is believed the body had been in the river at least 24 hours.
The Peoria County Coroner’s office describes the victim as a white female between the ages of 18 and 30, five-foot-six, approximately 160 pounds. She has a tattoo on her right forearm spelling out “INTEGRITY.” She also has had orthopedic surgery in her upper left arm with evidence of plates and screws in that arm.

The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a body found in the Illinois River this (Friday) afternoon.
Sheriff Chris Watkins says an employee of Mosiac Fertilizer off of Cargill Road in Hollis Township made the discovery at around 1:45 P.M. in the barge loading area.
Watkins says the employee found the female body floating about 20 feet from the shore.
He says it appears the body had been in the river for at least 24 hours.
The identity and manner of death of the female is under investigation.
