PEORIA, Ill. — A standoff outside a home Wednesday afternoon on the 1800 block of West Kettelle resulted in two arrests, including the arrest of a man who allegedly held a female inside the home against her will.
Peoria Police officers were dispatched around 11:30 to the home.
They were told the female inside the home was being trapped by a man who was potentially armed.
After police arrived, a male arrived on foot to the scene, and authorities alleged he tried to intervene. He was arrested.
Later on, another male exited the home without incident, and surrendered to police.
“This is an active investigation,” said Amy Dotson, Peoria Police Spokesperson.
“The investigation is domestic battery as well as unlawful restraint,” she added.
A female inside the home was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Dotson said the department is working to find a motive behind the alleged incident.
“We believe they know each other, but the actual relationship, if any, is being determined,” she stated.
Another male found inside the home was determined not to be involved in the incident, and was released.
