PEORIA, Ill. – If you are looking to add a furry friend to your family, now is the time.
Peoria County Animal Protection Services (PCAPS) is waiving adoption fees through Friday, June 7.
PCAPS officials say they are currently providing shelter and care for nearly 200 animals at its shelter at 2600 NE Perry Ave. in Peoria and space is limited.
Officials say there are a variety of dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and lizards in various ages, sizes and colors.
A complete application must be submitted for approval to adopt, and in many instances your pet will be able to go home with you the same day.
All animals are adopted on a first come, first served basis.
Adopters may walk in to meet any or all of the adoptable animals during the shelter’s regular hours of noon to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. But again, the fee-waived adoption promotion ends Friday, June 7.
