PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria Park District is bringing back Park-A-Palooza this week.
Park District Executive Director Emily Cahill tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan”, they’ve got brand new experiences ready.
“The idea with Park-A-Palooza is if you live here, or in the region, you shouldn’t have to go to Chicago or St. Louis to do really cool things. So, we focus on bringing in experiences to Peoria for a weekend that are things that you find in a bigger city, they’re unique,” Cahill says.
This year’s Park-A-Palooza is happening this Thursday-Saturday on the Peoria Riverfront.
Cahill says they’ve got something for everyone, including activities for those who are a little adventurous.
“This year we’re bringing in our version of Peoria Ninja Warrior. So, the course will be like what you see on tv,” Cahill says.
The course, Cahill says, is appropriate for anyone 5 and older, and you don’t have to be an athlete to take on the challenge.
If you’re not up for something so physical, there’ll be a soda pop experience nearby.
“Saturday from 11 to 7, we’ll have what we’re calling our Soda Pop-A-Palooza, where we’ll be bringing in 75 craft sodas for you to sample. I think it will be really unique, and something that we haven’t done before, says the Park District’s Nick Conrad.
Park-A-Palooza will also feature plenty of live music throughout the 3-day experience, as well as a 300-drone light show, illuminating the night sky with choreography and bright, vibrant colors Saturday night.
