PEORIA, Ill. – With temperatures in the 90s over the next few days, and heat indices even higher, the City of Peoria is opening Cooling Centers for people who need to get out of the excessive heat.
The lobby of the Peoria Police Department, on SW Adams Street, is open from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Peoria Fire Stations are also available from 7 a.m.- 10 p.m. A list of fire station locations can be found HERE. Note that in the event of a fire-related emergency, visitors will be asked to step out while staff is on a call.
