PEORIA, Ill. – A 17-year-old boy was arrested on weapons charges Thursday afternoon after a traffic stop in the Grand Prairie area.
Peoria Police say a vehicle connected to a shooting investigation was stopped on North Grand Prairie Drive just before 4:15 P.M.
The vehicle’s occupants were a 22-year-old man, and two 17-year-old boys.
Police say the three were detained, and officers reportedly found a handgun inside the vehicle during a search.
One of the 17-year-old boys was arrested on charges of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, and Possession of a Handgun Under 21. He was taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center, while the other two were released.
