PEORIA, Ill. – An autopsy on a young girl who died after a medical emergency on a flight diverted to Peoria Thursday is inconclusive.
That’s the finding of Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood, announced on Friday.
Harwood says despite the finding, there were no signs of foul play and no signs of abuse or neglect on eight-year-old Sydney Weston of Carl Junction, Missouri.
Weston suffered the emergency on a flight from Joplin, Missouri that was destined for Chicago.
He says additional testing is underway, which includes histology, biopsies, cultures, blood hematology and chemistry, and toxicology. But Harwood says the results of those could take between 4-6 weeks to be completed.
