PEORIA, Ill. – Police and firefighters were called to the scene of a fiery crash on Rt. 24 Wednesday night, just east of Rt. 9, near Mapleton.
Rt. 24 was shut down in both directions for a little over an hour, according to the Peoria City/County Emergency Communications Center.
Peoria County officials said the rollover accident involved a single vehicle that sparked a fire.
A captain with the Timber Hollis Fire Protection District told 25 News that a woman was able to free herself from the vehicle, but her condition was not available.
The captain said the fire was put out quickly.
