PEORIA, Ill. – Numerous communities across central Illinois will celebrate the birthday of the United States of America over the next few days.
In Peoria and East Peoria, people can enjoy the annual Choose Greater Peoria Red, White, and BOOM on the riverfronts. The show is billed as the top fireworks show in the state of Illinois, and among the top 2% in the entire country.
The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30 P.M., preceded by a flyover of a C-130H Hercules from the 182nd Airlift Wing of the Illinois National Guard. The national anthem will take place at 9:20 P.M. by Eric Norman of the 182nd Airlift Wing in Peoria, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance by reigning Festival of Lights Queen Janessa Brown.
