EAST PEORIA, Ill. – A 34-year-old man was given a notice to appear on charges relating to going through mailboxes in East Peoria.
East Peoria Police say officers on June 26th noticed an “overwhelming majority” of mailboxes were open in the area of Arnold Road after receiving complaints.
Police say Michael Kuehn was identified through surveillance video obtained in the investigation as a suspect, and arrested the morning of June 28th.
He was charged with Theft Under $500 in relation to the case, and transported to the Tazewell County Justice Center on an unrelated Tazewell County arrest warrant.
Police in Washington last week also warned residents of mailboxes in the city being opened and mail dumped on the ground.
