Xavier Blake, the man identified as the primary suspect in the 19th Peoria homicide of 2019, turned himself in to the Peoria Police Department on Friday around noon. Blake, 34, was identified as the primary suspect in the shooting death of Eddie Wren after the Peoria Police Department coupled witness accounts and surveillance footage.
Upon turning himself in, Blake was arrested for first degree murder.
The shooting occurred on Thursday, September 12th at approximately 6:48 P.M. Police responded to the area of Wisconsin and Nebraska where they found Wren, 42, with a life-threatening gunshot wound to his neck. Wren succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital and was pronounced dead at 7:15 P.M.
The incident is still under investigation.
