UPDATED 11:11 A.M. 7/16/24
PEORIA, Ill. – Ameren Illinois says it will take a couple days before most of its customers are back online after Monday night’s storms.
The utility says it’s continuing to assess the magnitude of the storms and the scope of damage resulting from them.
Because of that, Ameren says it’s estimating about 80 percent of its customers impacted by power outages will be restored by 10:00 P.M. Wednesday.
As of 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, nearly 9,000 customers in Tazewell County were still without power, with around 7,500 in Peoria County and nearly 700 in Woodford.
Based on the magnitude of the storms and the scope of the damage that we continue to assess, we project that 80% of customers impacted by storms on July 15 will be restored by 10:00 p.m. on July 17. Customers will be notified of their specific restoration time once established. pic.twitter.com/7lzL9vkLgM
