PEORIA, Ill. – It appears arson is the cause of a fire that destroyed a South Peoria home early Wednesday morning.
Peoria firefighters were called to a story-and-a-half home on W. Arlington around 4:50 a.m.
Fire Battalion Chief Jeffrey Hascall says residents got out of the home before crews arrived. Firefighters were able to rescue a dog from inside the home.
Crews were on the scene for roughly two hours putting out hot spots.
The Red Cross is assisting the four adults living in the home with temporary housing.
No injuries were reported.
