PEORIA, Ill. – A second person has been arrested in connection to the April homicide of a junior college basketball player that was back home in Peoria.
Peoria Police say 18-year-old Korion Hopkins was arrested Thursday for First Degree Murder in connection to the incident.
The incident occurred the evening of April 30th in the area of Knoxville and Forrest Hill, where 18-year-old MikeQuese Taylor was shot in a driveway and later died.
Taylor was a contributing member of the Kansas City Kansas Community College Blue Devil basketball team this past season, and was back in Peoria visiting his two-month old son.
20-year-old Messiah Carpenter was arrested in May for First Degree Murder in connection to Taylor’s shooting death.
Hopkins was already in the Peoria County Jail on a separate incident. He was also charged on Wednesday in connection to an April 28th shooting at an after prom party in Chillicothe.
