PEORIA, Ill. – A man was arrested after multiple shots were fired in Peoria Thursday night.
Peoria Police say a total of 33 shots were fired just before 9:00 p.m. in the area of Jefferson and Pecan.
Officers learned soon after that a 20-year-old male was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Police used a license plate reader to identify the vehicle involved. Officers stopped it in the area of Main and University just before 3:30 A.M. Friday.
Four males in the vehicle were detained, with a firearm and two magazines reportedly found during a search of the vehicle.
26-year-old Dayshaun Smullin was arrested for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, with the other three men released.

PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert Thursday night on SW Jefferson, indicating 20 rounds were fired, followed by a second alert of 13 rounds fired.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says just after 9 p.m., officers were informed a 20-year-old man had been dropped off at a local hospital by private vehicle with a gunshot wound to his leg.
The victim was shot in the River West area.
Police have no suspects at this time, and the incident is under investigation.
