MORTON, Ill. – Portions of the Caterpillar facility in Morton were evacuated Monday morning as police investigated a suspicious object.
Morton Police say an object with wires sticking out was found in a women’s restroom just after 9:30 A.M.
Police discussed the object with the supervisor who found it, and determined that it could have been an explosive device after a visual inspection.
The Peoria Police Bomb Squad was called in to assist, using an x-ray and robot to inspect.
It was determined the item was not explosive, and the all clear was given just before 12:15 P.M.
