PEORIA, Ill. – Autopsy results for a Chillicothe couple who died over the weekend after their motorcycle collided with a pickup truck are consistent with injuries suffered in the crash.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says toxicology tests are still pending, but both Floyd and Leah Henderson suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries that were inconsistent with life.
Harwood says the couple likely died instantly.
Illinois State Police responded to the crash just before 10 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Knox Street and Rt. 29 near Rome.
The ISP says it appears the motorcycle was going westbound on Knox Street and failed to yield at a stop sign, and merged onto Rt. 29, getting in front of the pickup.
58-year-old Floyd Henderson and 51-year-old Leah Henderson were both ejected from the motorcycle.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
