Paperwork filed in Peoria County Court Tuesday shows the results of a polygraph Peoria City Councilman Zach Oyler took earlier this month, support claims that he did not hit his wife.
Olyer’s attorney, Robert Hanauer, filed the results of the polygraph test that was conducted in Normal on September 12. The document said Oyler requested the test.
The examiner said Oyler had “no significant emotional disturbances indicative of deception” while taking the test.
From the polygraph, when asked, “Did you come straight home after leaving work?” Oyler answered, “No”.
To the question, “Did you physically strike or hit your wife Heather?” Oyler answered, “No”.
Oyler was arrested July 30 for domestic violence after his wife called 911 alleging he was drunk when he assaulted her in their home.
Oyler is due back in court October 16. His trial is set for January 13.
Oyler’s defense is asking the court to admit the polygraph test as evidence in his case.
