PEORIA, Ill. – The 36th annual Duck Race benefiting Peoria’s Center for Prevention of Abuse is back this weekend.
The Center’s Carol Merna says they have about 3,000 ducks still up for adoption, having sold nearly 32,000 already.
Merna says 100-percent of money raised through duck sales goes to their Client Care.
“Everyone that we serve for domestic violence, sexual violence, elder abuse, human trafficking, and even work that we do in prevention education, is supported by the funds that we make every year from the Duck Race,” Merna says.
Ducks are available until race time Saturday, or until they sell out.
Ducks are $5 a piece, six for $25, 12 for $50, and up.
There are 15 prizes up for grabs with this year’s race…including the top prize of $10,000.
Saturday’s Duck Race is being held at East Peoria’s Eastside Centre at 1 p.m.
