COCHISE COUNTY, Az. — An Arizona man was taken into police custody Thursday without incident for allegedly threatening to shoot former President Donald Trump during a campaign stop at the U.S./Mexico border.
The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office says 66-year-old Ronald Lee Syvrud, who has a number of outstanding warrants for unrelated offenses in Wisconsin, was arrested shortly after Trump’s event ended Thursday.
Trump tells FOX News, he learned about the threat from a reporter’s question during his campaign stop at the border. Trump has another campaign event in Arizona Friday.
