PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office is petitioning to try a 15-year-old male accused of shooting another teenager as an adult.
The office says the 15-year-old was charged Friday with Attempted Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.
The shooting occurred Tuesday at around 7:30 P.M. in the area of Wyoming and Ligonier, where a 16-year-old male was found lying in an alley with multiple gunshot wounds.
The 16-year-old remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The state’s attorney’s office says a gun was recovered during a search of the 15-year-old home, where shell casings from the gun reportedly matched those recovered from the shooting.
The 15-year-old remains in custody at the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
