PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria police are gathering information concerning the shooting of a teenager.
Police spokesperson Simone Roth says a 17-year-old boy was taken to a hospital by private vehicle around 9:50 p.m. Friday with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was last reported in stable condition.
Roth said around the same time, police received a ShotSpotter alert of two rounds fired in the area of Kettelle Street and Western Avenue in South Peoria.
Roth said it has not been confirmed if the shooting occurred at that location.
No suspect information was available.
