PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – Peoria County’s Sheriff says the manhunt for an Ohio man accused of stealing a vehicle with a three-year-old child inside it continues.
Chris Watkins says the sheriff’s office has received reports of several possible sightings of 45-year-old Victor Farris, but none have been confirmed.
He says the tips range from a person walking into a cornfield north of Brimfield, to a male that appears to look like Farris on a bike on Hicks Hallow Road, east of Illinois Route 40.
Watkins adds there have not been any reports yet of stolen vehicles in the northern part of Peoria County.
He’s encouraging the public to keep calling in possible sightings of Farris.
Farris allegedly stole the vehicle Wednesday in the area of Pioneer Parkway and University, with the three-year-old found safe at a gas station on Airport Road.
