MONROE COUNTY, Iowa – An Ohio man on the run from Peoria County authorities has been found in southern Iowa.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says 45-year-old Victor Farris was taken into custody Monday at around 10:00 A.M. in Monroe County.
A train conductor had witnessed a male, later identified as Farris, jump off a train and run after being confronted.
Watkins says Farris was later found in an alleyway and lied about his name, but was eventually positively identified and arrested.
He says Farris is going through the extradition process in Iowa and will eventually be brought to Peoria County.
Last week, Farris was indicted by a Peoria County grand jury for Vehicular Hijacking, Kidnapping, and Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, with a warrant issued for his arrest.
Farris had been on the run since a September 5th incident where he allegedly stole a vehicle with a three-year-old child inside it in Peoria. The child was found safe later in the morning at a gas station in Bartonville.
